Chawee (Dahbu) and his family are from a Karen ethnic group who recently migrated from Myanmar. Dahbu only has a student ID card from his school and is considered stateless. It is his first year of attending school. He cannot speak, or understand, Thai just yet. He has to walk to school every day because his father cannot afford to pay a school bus fee of 1,600 baht per semester. He is obedient and a well-mannered kid. He wants to be a teacher when he grows up.
